Competition

I’m having a go at entering a short video making competition. Here is a piece of a screenshot of my work so far as motivation, so that I am made to feel silly on the Internet if I end up not finishing it in time. I’ll probably post up a viddy when it’s all done.

Cycles

Blender, my 3D creating friend, has a new renderer on the way. It’s in the very early stages of development but I had a go at making the renders below and it seems pretty promising. My favourite touch is that it starts off with a fast rough render and refines it, and it lets you use this as your main 3D viewport so you can move stuff around and see how lighting is affected in real time. Good stuff, those guys!

Gong

After seeing a friend link to a graph of the changing membership of the psychedelic rock bang Gong and having recently watched a talk on data visualisation, I started having a go at drawing it up in a more colourful way. They split into multiple bands at various points which makes it interesting. I’ve almost certainly got the details wrong, but it was fun to draw and has about the same amount of information.

Hello

Welcome to attempt five thousand of this website. It’s just a sketchbook of animations, drawings and programming that might be interesting. All feedback is welcomed, except from evil robot drones. Here’s a very short animation of mine, just to start things off.
